Open Rank Faculty Search, Department of Preventive Medicine - Biostatistics

The Department of Preventive Medicine, Division of Biostatistics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure track/tenured Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.  Responsibilities include independent statistical research, collaborative biostatistics investigation, teaching, and supervision of PhD students and master’s level statistical analysts. This faculty member will have committed effort to engage in both methodologic and collaborative aspects of prospective, multi-site observational studies and/or clinical trials being conducted by Northwestern University Data Analysis and Coordinating Center (NUDACC). The faculty member is expected to be a team leader, providing collaborative leadership for high-impact clinical or public health investigations and maintaining independent, funded statistical methodology research in areas that enhance collaborative work.  Teaching responsibilities will be one quarter-long course per year in the Health Sciences Integrated Program (HSIP) PhD program and supervision of PhD students.

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics, experience and interest in collaborating with bio-medical investigators, excellent scientific productivity related to biostatistical methodology, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of multidisciplinary teams.  Academic primary appointment will be in the Division of Biostatistics, Department of Preventive Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University.  This full-time faculty position carries the title of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor and is part of the Investigator faculty track.  The Department of Preventive Medicine’s Division of Biostatistics consists of more than 25 faculty biostatisticians who provide a collegial environment.  As part of general faculty responsibilities, participation in department meetings as well as departmental, school and university-wide committees is expected.  Participation in scientific meetings and scholarly activities to build national and international reputation are encouraged and expected.
