Moller, PhDResearch Assistant Professor |  | | a-moller@northwestern.edu 312/503-1673 585/615-4490 View publications | Dr. Moller received his Ph.D. in social and personality psychology from the University of Rochester (2007) in Rochester, NY. Following the completion of his graduate training, he was a faculty member at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA from 2007 through 2009. He joined the Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University in January, 2009 and is working with Dr. Spring on several clinical trials addressing health risks related to obesity by motivating changes in diet and physical activity. Research InterestsDr. Moller’s research background is in social and personality psychology. His area of specialization concerns understanding human motivation, health, and well-being. Specifically, his research has often focused on differentiating autonomous and controlled forms of motivation within a self-determination theory framework. He is especially interested in exploring how the provision of choice and financial incentives can either facilitate or undermine effective self-regulation.
