Both healthcare and biomedical research are being radically transformed by advances in informatics. As a result, informatics itself is being radically transformed. The challenge is to envision and create a department, not for where informatics is today, but for where it will be in five to ten years.
Our divisional five-part vision includes:
- The creation of a Department of Health and Biomedical Informatics
- Faculty development
- Educational programs
- Northwestern University Biomedical Informatics Center and collaboration
