Novel Approaches to the Study of Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology

In addition to the traditional research carried out in our many cohort studies (e.g., CARDIA, MESA, CHA), our faculty are engaged in a great number of new areas of research in cardiovascular disease epidemiology including predictive and personalized medicine, the application of novel imaging technologies (e.g., high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging to detect plaque), patient-centered outcomes research, metabolomics and genomics, and the use of electronic technologies to promote and sustain behavioral changes.  A brief summary is provided below of the novel research that primary and secondary mentors in our program have funded within these research areas.

Chemotherapeutics
Electronic Health Records/Big Data
Epigenetics
Imaging
Metabolomics/Proteomics/ Genomics
Mobile Technologies for Health Behavioral Change
Patient Reported Outcomes
Personalized Medicine
